Cozy Autumn Engagement

Between the golden hour sunbursts and the sweetness of an apple orchard, this engagement shoot is one of my favorites by far!

Marissa and Bobby smiled and danced the evening away, making these photos completely natural and full of love.

We wandered around Roger’s Orchard and a local reservoir, finding plenty of fall backdrops. My mom Lisa and I designed a cozy picnic for the pair, complete with apple cider filled antique goblets, earthy pumpkins, gold accents, and plush pillows. She also included a fall foraged arrangement full of hydrangea and wild greens.

I had such an effortless time shooting the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Sirois and her antique engagement ring. I hope you enjoy seeing their genuine love!

Cheers!

Graduation Celebration

A party needs three things: garden flowers, cucumber mojitos, and a balmy sun, luckily for my sister Meghan and I we had all of that and then some.

Growing up with eight siblings teaches you a lot about sharing, you share clothes, bedrooms, Instagram caption ideas, and on some rare years you even share your graduation celebration.

Meghan recently finished up her senior year and became a graduate of Berlin High School, and I (not so recently) graduated from Central Connecticut State University this past December. Used to sharing, we decided the only way to celebrate both our accomplishments was to throw a combined grad party.

Per usual our mom took over the décor department and styled the party with a vintage, garden, and earthy look in mind. She used antique planters, vintage benches and chests, and dozens of blooming flowers to create our beautiful party.

She made two focal points, one a fabulous spin off the typical “grad table”, and the other a vintage seating area and backdrop.

The enhanced grad table was a bit more than just a collage and “GRAD” banner, our mom used strands of lights and tassels, bouquets, frames, and an antique iron holder to create a sweet table fit for two!

Her earthy seating area was made up of two teal iron chairs, a little loveseat bench, an antique chest, and a gold balloon banner. She used garden plants and flowers to give life to the space, and created a cozy hangout by hanging more strands of lights. A weathered door and window pane rested behind the set-up to add closure to our little corner of the tent.

Another (unplanned, but sweet) addition to the party was our cousins 1966 turquoise pick-up truck which posed for a fabulous prop as well! It completely went with our antique garden soiree!

We love and appreciate when small details are focused on and our mom never disappoints when it comes to party prep and event styling!

The Sun and the Sea

Beach roses, a setting sun, and a sandy seating area make up the perfect breezy picnic spot!

We wanted to enhance a typical picnic scene with seaside elements and organic décor!

Two weathered wooden pallets, rested on a striped beach blanket, created an earthy tabletop for this styled shoot.

Wild roses and beach flowers were mixed with garden grown peonies in multiple glass bottles and vases, while a piece of coral acted as a beachy candle holder.

By mixing antique silverware (from the Brimfield Antique Fair), crystal glasses, and crisp white plates, we dipped into an elegant and nautical look.

Meigs Point at Hammonasset Beach in Clinton, CT was the location for this golden hour shoot. I spotted this grassy nook that made for the perfect picnic location, with views of the sea and wildflower surroundings.

This shoot was styled and designed by my fabulous mom, Lisa Lennehan, and it may be my favorite so far. My sisters Alyssa, Shanna, and Caitlyn also helped create this shoot, as well as model for a few shots!

We loved using one of our giant conch shells to create this mermaid silhouette!

There’s nothing more that I love than the sea, the sun, and sandy shoots!

Winter Wardrobe

This weekend I teamed up with two of my sisters, Alyssa and Shanna for a woodsy winter photo shoot.

Alyssa was our make-up artist and wardrobe designer and Shanna balanced on branches, cliff edges, and icy rocks as our model. We ventured throughout Rocky Hill, Connecticut to capture winters raw beauty and mix it with some fabulous fashion.

Cheers!

Daniel Gaedeke is a Connecticut photographer who has specialized in wedding and engagement photography for the past three years.
“The best part of a wedding to me is being able to capture all the raw emotion that comes with the day,” Gaedeke said.

As a young and fairly new wedding photographer Gaedeke has relied on word of mouth to spread his business. So far this year he has shot 5 weddings total, and already has bookings for 2015, as well as 2016.
Each wedding allows an opportunity for great joy, and Gaedeke notes that “all the smiles, tears, love, and happiness make me grateful to be there capturing it all.”
But of course wedding days have a bit of disorder tagging along.
To deal with this Gaedeke says, “No matter what you have for a plan, you better have a back up, and a back up for that.”
To not be thrown by the chaos and excitement of the day, Gaedeke says he try’s to “stay two steps ahead of it all,” to make sure he can get the best shots.

Chelsea and Kevin Dingus, of Berlin, CT hired Gaedeke to shoot their engagement photos last fall and were nothing but pleased with his work.

“He was creative, and details were important to him,” Chelsea Dingus said of Gaedeke’s photography, “he was also good with picking out our poses so that we didn’t look too awkward.”
She also noted that Gaedeke took a variety of shots in different areas so the couple had plenty to choose from.
Gaedeke works out of central CT and will travel Connecticut for shoots at the convenience of the couple, but is willing to travel a bit further than the ends of CT.
“I would really enjoy traveling and doing a destination wedding at some point,” Gaedeke says.
